Educational institutions in Himachal's Kangra dictrict have been instructed to remain closed today owing to forecasts of heavy rain, officials said.
Announcing the decision, Kangra Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar said all medical institutions would, however, remain open.
He urged the public to stay away from rivers and nullahs, and said people could call on the emergency service number 1077, if needed.
Earlier, at least 19 people were killed in the state in flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains on August 13.
