"It develops students' personality, sets up physical and mental standard and transforms their living status," Murmu said at the Golden Jubilee Year Celebration of Jawahar Vidya Mandir in Shyamali, where cricketer M S Dhoni studied.
Congratulating the school on the occasion, the Governor said it is among the well recognised institutions which have been providing quality education in Jharkhand.
She said that in the present competitive world, education has become the fourth necessity for human beings after food, cloth and shelter.
The Governor said that it was a matter of pride that students of this school have been doing equally well in the field of sports.

"On this occasion, I appeal to the school
administration to come forward to give free education to children from the poor and disadvantaged section of the society so that they can also be shown the right direction in their lives. Please adopt at least one Government High School and bring up its standards on par with your institution," she said.
The governor called upon the students, appealing to teach children from deprived and backward communities in their spare time.
"That will be your greatest gift to society," the governor said.
