Originally planned for 2016, the Oliver Stone-directed biopic has been moved up to December 25, 2015) in the US, reported Deadline.
The movie stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Edward Snowden, the ex-CIA employee who leaked classified files to the media back in 2013.
Gordon-Levitt will be joined Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Rhys Ifans, Tom Wilkinson, Joely Richardson and Timothy Olyphant.
Woodley is playing Snowden's girlfriend Lindsay Mills, a dancer who moved to Moscow to be with him.
Earlier this month, Clint Eastwood's son Scott was cast as a top NSA agent whose life is forever changed by Snowden's actions.
