President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi today said Egypt is not worried about Islamic State (IS) militants or any other organisations with same ideologies, as long as Egyptians supported their army.
His comments came during a meeting today with a group of Editors of newspapers.
The president, a former Army Chief was asked to comment on various claims by certain groups calling themselves as the Islamic State in Libya and Egypt (ISLE) and if they existed or were based in Egypt.
"We don't care about "ISIS", "Dalm" or what is called Islamic state in Libya and Egypt as long as Egyptians are supporting their army. As long as the great Egyptian people are supporting their armed forces.. There is no fear of "ISIS" or other organisations", Sisi said.
"Egypt is currently trying to resolve the Palestinian cause. Rafah crossing was not originally in the terms of crossings agreements between Israel and Palestine in 2005, affirming that Egypt will not hesitate in meeting the demands of our brothers in Gaza", the President said.
"Egypt does not import or export gas from Israel. Egypt is no longer exporting gas to Israel", he added.
He affirmed that Egypt's main goal is to maintain the unity of the Syrian land and protect it from partition.
He also said that Egypt is working to reach a solution to the situation in Syria away from supporting either the Syrian regime or the Syrian opposition.
