Eid celebrated in Gujarat

Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Gujarat today with fervour and enthusiasm, with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other political leaders extending their wishes to the members of Muslim community.
In the city, Muslims gathered at mosques and Eidgahs early in the morning to offer namaz, marking the end of Ramzan.
Thousands gathered at Jama Masjid at Teen Darwaza in the old city area and Eidgah near Kankaria Lake to offer morning prayers. Sarkhej Roza mosque also witnessed a huge congregation.
At some places, Muslims were seen wearing black bands on their arms while offering special morning prayers to protest against growing cases of lynching of members of the community by alleged cow vigilantes, the recent being the case of Zunaid who was stabbed to death on June 22 on a Mathura-bound train.
CM Rupani wished Eid through a message posted on his twitter handle. "May Allah bring joy, happiness,peace & prosperity on this blessed occasion.Wishing you & ur family on this happy occasion of Eid!Eid Mubarak," he said.
Leader fo opposition Shankersinh Vaghela also tweeted his Eid wish. "As the holy month of #Ramadan draws to an end, may this Eid-ul-Fitr bring peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives of all. #EidMubarak !," he said in a tweet.
Several other leaders including senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel, city mayor Gautam Shah and other leaders from across different political parties extended their Eid wishes to revellers.
