Eight books launched on last day of conclave in city

Eight books authored by eight different writers were launched today on the final-day of four-day conclave organised by the India's leading short stories portal, StoryMirror.
Meraki -- authoured by Hana Vaid, a 17-year-old poetess, Knocked Out by Sabi Shaikh, Europa by Hywel Pinto, Tales from East of Singalila by Arun Acharya, Samaantar Cinema by Hubnath Pandey, Ye Hai Mumbai authoured by Bhuvendra Tyagi, Rikta by Manisha Sri and Pita vaanyaKahaniyan by Dhirendra Asthana were launched at an event at suburban Hiranandai Gardens in Powai.
"During the conclave, 12 authors launched, 40 creative events. This was a feat that encouraged over 10,000 students to follow their heart and creative exploits for the first time and were rewarded for their excellence in respective fields of story telling, poetry, sketching and painting, dance, music and other creative disciplines," said co-founder of StoryMirror and author Bibhu Datta Rout.
Prizes worth Rs 2.4 lakh were distributed in various categories to authors present among the eminent literary figures like Swaradarshi Bharat Balivalli, Radha Krishna Pillai, Achala Dagar, Rajendra Shistakar and Vishwananth Sachdeva.
"This initiative is a promise that creativity will never be deprived of justice as long as StoryMirror holds the torch for young talents of India," said Rout adding, this is a movement, a step towards building the world's first Creative Ecosystem.
Talking about the objective behind the conclave, CEO of StoryMirror, Devendra Jaisawal said, "Our objective was to explore hidden creative talent amongst youth and give them a platform to exhibit their calibre. We are extremely happy to say that we succeeded in our objective.
