The crime took place on Saturday night when the minor was lured to an isolated place in Siddharthnagar slum area by accused Ravindra Manohar Sonwane, on the pretext of giving her some snack, Sub-Inspector Neeta Ubale told PTI.
The girl was allegedly beaten and then sexually assaulted, the police officer said, adding that a complaint was lodged against the 35-year-old at Tophakhana police station by her mother yesterday.
Sonwane was arrested and produced in a local court which sent him to seven days of police custody.
