Jaipur Police Commissioner, Janga Srinivas Rao issued necessary directions to the officers asking them to ensure strict vigil in the city and to check any suspicious movement or activity.
He said additional policemen will be deployed in and around the areas like Chaugan stadium, where the district-level Independence Day function will be held, and at bus stands, railway stations, taxi stands, airport, under flyovers to check any suspicious activities.'
Rao said policemen in plain cloths will also be patrolling in the city.
The state-level function of Independence Day, however will be celebrated in Udaipur, where Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will hoist the tricolour.
