Elderly couple found killed, accused held

The bodies of an elderly couple were recovered from their house in Hamirpur district and a man was arrested for allegedly killing them, police said here today.
The bodies of Krishna Gopal (70) and his wife Kala Devi (65) were found from their house in Sureli village under Sumarpur police station area in the district.
The bodies, which appeared to be two to three days old, bore injury marks, they added.
The couple's daughter had been trying to contact them ever since they returned from her house in Kanpur on Tuesday, police said, adding that the bodies were found when she reached the house in search of them today.

The daughter lodged an FIR against one Maan Singh of the same village, who was later arrested and a sharp-edged weapon, said to have been used in the crime, was also recovered from him, police added.
