The relative Narayanasamy, who surrendered before police after the murder was arrested, police said.
They said, Shanmugam (60) and his wife Nagavalli (55) had some disputes with Narayanasamy over a property.
Narayanasamy went to Shanmugam's house this morning and strangled the couple, slit their throat and stabbed them using a knife.
The couple died on the spot.
