Elderly Delhi couple die in accident near Sonipat

An elderly couple, hailing from a village near Narela in Delhi, died when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a truck on Delhi-Ambala national highway near Ganaur in Haryana's Sonipat district today, police said.
"Both the husband, aged around 65 and his wife, who was nearly 60 years of age, were hit by the truck from behind on Ganaur flyover. The two died at the accident spot," Sub Inspector S Sethi of Police Post, Ganaur Chowk, said.
He said the couple were traveling from Delhi and were headed towards Assandh in Karnal district.
"They were going to meet their daughter in Assandh. They hailed from a village in Narela in Delhi," he said, adding a case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered in connection with the incident.
