Chinmay Joshi, who was posted on election duty as Sector Magistrate in Sitarganj assembly constituency, was found drinking alcohol while on duty during an inspection, District Returning Officer Chandresh Yadav said.
He has been suspended for negligence of duty with immediate effect, Yadav said.
Joshi is an assistant professor in H N Bahuguna Post Graduate College.
