It is good news for dance music enthusiasts in the city as Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the world, is set to make its debut in India this November.
A slew of world renowned DJs have been lined up to perform at the festival that promises an effortless blend of EDM talent from across the globe with skilful production and sound design.
Scheduled to be held on November 12 and 13, it is being organised by Insomniac events in collaboration with Mumbai-based Only Much Louder (OML).
Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac Events, who had earlier hinted about expanding the festival's base and bringing it to Asian countries said, "I finally get to share the news that EDC will find a new home in Delhi, India, this fall.
"Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by the country's colorful and exotic culture. I know it's a place where the magic of EDC can come alive in a truly unique way," he said.
The festival has travelled across several venues in the US since its inception and has also entertained fans in the UK, Brazil and Japan, before drawing an overwhelming crowd of nearly 4 lakh people in Las Vegas last year.

Known for its varied lineup catering to different genres of EDM, the festival has been previously headlined by top international DJs such as the World No 1 Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Skrillex, DJ Snake, Axwell, Ingrosso, Eric Prydz among others.
Even though the announcement of the highly anticipated line-up remains awaited, organisers say the Indian edition will also see performances by Indian DJs and producers, besides several international names.
"There are very few festivals that every EDM fan in the world talks about. Once I witnessed EDC in Las Vegas, I could see why. I have never seen a festival of this scale so beautifully executed. We can't wait to bring that experience to Indian fans and blow their minds," Vijay Nair, CEO of OML Entertainment said.
