Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught an Assistant Engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 21,000 for providing a new power connection.
Vivek Pandurang Joshi, posted at Mauje Salshingi in adjoining Jalgaon district, had demanded Rs 30,000 from a person for providing him a new three-phase power connection for his agriculture pump set, an ACB release said here today.
The person paid the first instalment of Rs 9,000 and subsequently lodged a complaint with ACB, which laid a trap and caught Joshi while accepting the remaining bribe amount yesterday, it added.
