Electronic toll gate inaugurated at Kodai road

For faster vehicular movement, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched an automatic electronic toll gateat Kodairoad near here on the busy national highway NH-7.
Vehicle users can avail the pre-paid toll facility by purchasing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) through designated bank, an official release said here today.
Once the vehicle enters the toll plaza, the trans-receivers
in the system would identify it based on the RFID tag and the toll amount would be automatically deducted.
According to toll gate Manager Jebaraj, for registration of the vehicles under the pre-paid toll system, the scanned copies of the RC book, owners ID, mobile phone number would have to be furnished in advance and the vehicle owners should hold an account in a particular bank.
The toll amount would be deducted from the account as and when their vehicle passes through the toll gate, he said.
The vehicle users can register their vehicles at NHAI, Madurai, the release said.
