A preliminary post-mortem report of the 35-year-old pachyderm stated cardiac arrest as the cause of death, but its viscera was being sent for further investigations to Bareilly, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) GP Singh said today.
There were some injury marks on its body, which might have been caused when its fell down following cardiac arrest, the DFO said.
Any foul play in the elephant's death have been ruled out as its tusks were safe.
