The Delhi government today announced that the construction of the elevated road over Barapullah Nallah (PhaseII) is likely to be completed by March end.
In the Budget presented today in the Delhi Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the move would decongest the ring road, besides reducing travel time by 15 to 20 minutes.
He said that a Rs 5,145 crore has been allocated for public transport, including road infrastructure in 2018-19.
Construction of the elevated road of Barapullah PhaseIII from Sarai Kale Khan to Mayur Vihar will be completed by December 2018 at a cost of Rs 1,260 crore, the move would reduce travel time to 10 to 12 minutes from the existing 30 minutes.
Other constructions set to begin in 2018-19 include the Kalindi Bypass road, an elevated road from Signature Bridge to Kalindi Kunj Bypass and an elevated road over Najafgarh Drain from Kakrola More to Wazirabad.
"Construction of flyover at Karawal Nagar, Bhajanpura Junction and flyover at Gagan Cinema, Nand Nagri T-Junction and an underpass at Loni Road on Mangal Pandey Marg of 6.5 Kms length will be started," he said.
