Elvis Presley's fiancee Ginger Alden, who has never spoken before about the 'King of Rock and Roll', has revealed how the legendary singer had promised her the 'wedding of the century' months before he died.
A new memoir, written by Alden, also talks about the singer's darker side, with him often displaying violent mood swings, reported Daily Mirror.
"I know this sounds funny but when Elvis entered the room, I thought trumpets would sound. He looked so handsome," she wrote.
The couple first met at a fairground when Alden was still a child.
But in 1976, she accompanied her sister, Terry, the reigning Miss Tennessee, to his home. And it was here that the romance with Alden quickly blossomed.
In January, 1977, the singer eventually proposed to his girlfriend in the bathroom at Graceland.
But by August 16, she found him dead at the age of 42.
The memoir will be published on September 2.
