Emami Q4 net up 24.45 pc at Rs 138.33 cr

FMCG major Emami today reported a 24.45 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 138.33 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015, on the back of strong performance of its domestic business.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 111.15 crore in the same period a year ago.
Net sales went up by 24.21 per cent to Rs 553.66 crore in the fourth quarter of 2014-15 as against Rs 445.71 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, Emami said in a BSE filing.
"The growth in the fourth quarter of FY'15 was achieved by the strong performance of domestic business that registered a handsome topline growth of 20.5 per cent," Emami said in a statement.
Emami's international business grew by 48 per cent during the quarter. "The growth was led by SAARC, GCC and CIS countries," the statement said.
"Despite a challenging and increasing competitive environment added with a short lived winter, we were able to efficiently manage the external challenges to post a very healthy and strong result," Emami Ltd Director Mohan Goenka said.

For the year ended March 31, 2015, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 485.61 crore as against Rs 402.47 crore in previous fiscal.
Emami's net sales rose to Rs 2,217.25 crore in 2014-15 from Rs 1,820.77 crore in 2013-14.
The company's board also recommended a dividend of Rs 3 per equity share.
Emami shares today closed at Rs 941.25 apiece on the BSE, up 1.25 per cent from previous close.
