CallAmbulance, the Emergency Response Mobile App, is building a network of 100K First Responders in city to help save lives in medical emergency even before ambulance arrives. Over 60 private hospitals and EMRI joined the movement to train citizens as First Responders, a release from CallAmbulance said today.
Hyderabad is the first city in the country, to take up initiative to develop a pool of volunteers of First Responders to make the city an Emergency Friendly City, it claimed.
"We solicit everyone to join us on this mission to train over 1 Lakh Citizens in Basic Life Saving Skills starting with Hyderabad. First Responders will be able to stabilise and save victims of Common Emergencies before the ambulance arrives," said Umashankar Adi Kotturu, Co-Founder of CallAmbulance and Jagadish Vishwanadtham, COO and Co-Founder of CallAmbulance.
Common emergencies include Cardiac Arrest, Brain Stroke, pregnancy delivery, pediatric care, road trauma etc, they said.

Countries like Israel, over the years, have trained thousands of citizens and created a volunteer network of First Responders. They were able to save a lot of lives by responding to emergency victims in less than five minutes, Uma said.
"Once we are successful here, we will expand to other cities in India. We will even expand beyond India, said Jagadish.
According to the release, when an emergency victim raises alarm using CallAmbulance App it will share the exact location of the victim with these First Responders along with Ambulance Manager/108, Ambulance Driver and Doctor-on-duty, family.
"Only the First Responders who are in 1-km distance will be notified. Any of the First responders can choose to respond and will come on their own vehicles and provide stabilisation to the patient till the Ambulance arrives," the release added.
