"Emerson acquired Pune-based Ameya Transmissions, manufacturer of gear operators and gearboxes, to give it an even stronger end-to-end product line offering for customers, including the actuation of manual valves via gears," the company said in a statement here.
This acquisition complements Emerson's final control technologies used primarily in the oil and gas and power industries both domestically and globally, it said.
Ameya Transmissions develops and manufactures a wide range of gear operators, including quarter-turn and multi-turn manual gearboxes, which are supplied to the manual valve industry.
Besides serving the Indian market, Ameya products are exported to many countries.
