On Mother's Day, Eminem released a touching music video to apologise to his mother for publicly slamming her in his previous songs.

The Slim Shady premiered a Spike Lee-directed music video filmed through the eyes of his mother Deborah "Debbie" Mathers, whom he slammed in songs like 'Cleaning Out My Closet'.

In "Headlights" music video the rapper also thanked her for the sacrifices she made. The video was filmed through Deborah's eyes and shows how she attempted to connect with him only to be turned away, reported Ace Showbiz.

In the video, Eminem raps: "I'm sorry, Mama, for 'Cleaning Out My Closet', at the time I was angry/ Rightfully maybe so, never meant that far to take it though/ 'cause now I know it's not your fault, and I'm not making jokes/ That song I no longer play at shows and I cringe every time it's on the radio."

Lee said despite the pain it was a great story and this is why they shot it in Detroit where it all began.

"I really love the narrative for what we've come up [with] together for 'Headlights'. It's a great, great story. It's heartfelt, some pain in it, but that's life. So that's why we're here, back in the hood, 8 Mile Detroit, shooting where all this took place," Lee said.

The song is included in Eminem's 2013 album "The Marshall Mathers LP 2".
