The singer-actress was the first witness by the prosecution on Monday. Hudson identified accused William Balfour, the estranged husband of her elder sister Julia, the CNN reported.
"He's wearing a white shirt with a bluish, grayish tie sitting right there," the actress said pointing toward
Hudson also recalled how her family was against Julia's decision to marry Balfour with whom the actress attended grammar school.
"None of us wanted her to marry him. We did not like how he treated her. I would tell her over and over again not to marry William. We did not like how he treated her, and I didn't like how he treated my nephew," said Hudson.
The actress also talked about her relationship with her mother, saying she spoke with her every day and slept in the same bed with her until she was 16.
Through tears, the actress talked about the last time she saw her family together and the day she found out about the deaths.

"I did everything in my power to get home," Hudson said. She testified that she identified her relatives' bodies for authorities.
During cross-examination, the singer-actress said she never liked Balfour. "Where he was, I tried not to be," Hudson said. (MORE) PTI BK
