During repair of some explosive device at Nagrota Corps formation on the outskirts of the city, an accidental blast occurred resulting in injuries to two persons including an Army NCO, a senior Army officer said.
As they were being shifted to hospital, the civilian identified as Sanjeev Kumar, who was injured in the abdomen, died, he said, adding that Havaldar Mohanty was hospitalised.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
