Employees assault Deputy Collector for inducing to take bribe

A Deputy Collector was assaulted by members of a union of revenue department employees protesting against the arrest of a Special Tashildar who was trapped for allegedly accepting illegal gratification.
The Tashildar, Murugesan was caught red handed by Vigilence and Anti Corruption wing yesterday here while he was accepting Rs two lakh bribe from a person.
The accused official who has been arrested was remanded to judicial custody.
In the wake of the arrest of Murugesan, the offcials searched his residence where they seized Rs 2.35 lakh.
The Union members have been alleging that the Deputy Collector has been forcing his subordinates to collect bribe and transfer the booty to him.
