In a meeting, chaired by the Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Mahendra Nath Pandey, the committee members opined that the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology should prepare "trilingual" technical terminology -- English, Hindi and regional languages.
"The committee opined that the ministry should increase original Hindi correspondence. The panel also emphasised that to increase the use of Hindi, simple and popular words should be used instead of difficult Hindi words," a senior HRD Ministry official said.
The recommendations got the President's nod last month.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has also been instructed to form a policy in consultation with the state governments to make the language compulsory.
However, the HRD Ministry is yet to take a call on the suggestion.
