Encroachment removal drive on Najafgarh Road
Press Trust of India New Delhi In a joint effort by Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Traffic Police, an encroachment removal drive was taken up today on a stretch of 2.5 kilometer at Najafgarh Road from Jakhira crossing to Moti Nagar.
Encroachments which were mostly extension of banquet hall, shops and kiosks were removed from both the sides of the Najafgarh Road with the help of machinery and manpower, Secretary (PWD), Arun Baroka said today.
Delhi government has identified 11 corridors for encroachment removal.
Baroka said that the removal of encroachment shall continue for clearing encroachment on the identified roads as per the directions of Lieutanant Governor Nejeeb Jung.
The identified roads include Wazirabad road (from Wazirabad Village fo Bhopra Border), Vikas Puri (from District Centre Janakpuri to CRPF Camp), Captin Gaur Marg (from Lajpat Nagar to Maa Anandmai Marg upto Mehrauli Badarpur road), Aurobindo Marg (from Safdarjang Madarsa to Mehrauli), Najafgarh Road (from Zakhira to Najafgarh), Rohtak road (from Rani Jhansi Road to Tikri Border), Road No 41 (from Wazirpur Bus Depot to Rithala), GT Road (from Malkaganj to Jahangirpuri), Vikas Marg (from ITO Chungi to Karkari Chowk), Ring road (from Maharani Marg to AIIMS Chowk) and Ring road (from Model Town-III to Civil Lines).
