Warning action against the corrupt, Hayana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that the government employees and officers have been given a time-frame of six months to end corruption.
Addressing a public meeting in Chhachrauli Assembly constituency near Yamunanagar, he said, "We have requested the staff not to induldge in corrupt practices. If they do not listen to us in the next six months, we will proceed against the corrupt under the rules and regulations."
He further said that the government was committed to breaking the politician-officer-employees nexus for graft.
"The previous governments did not pay any heed to this but we will work to change this perception. If there is no corruption at the top level, there should not be any corruption at the lower levels also," he said.
Referring to coal scam, he alleged that the UPA had allowed Rs 1.86 lakh crore scam in allocation of coal mines.
"There are about 200 coal mines out of which only 20 were recently auctioned by the Union Government netting reveune of Rs two lakh crore. The times have changed with the formation of the BJP government both at the Centre and in the state," he said, according to an official release.
Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra 'Na Khaunga, Na Khanedunga' (neither will I take bribe, nor will I allow anyone to take bribe), he said that this should also be followed by all of us.
