Assistant Police Sub-Inspector of Salem Steel Plant station Chinnaraj was returning home after election duty in nearby Sankari when a wordy duel broke out between him and the student of an engineering college in Coimbatore over some petty issue.
Five other passengers also joined the quarrel which ended in a scuffle. The six were arrested on charge of voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and rioting, police said.
