A government engineer was arrested today for allegedly molesting and beating up his female colleague in this district, police said.
"36-year-old Dushyant Dadsena, a sub-engineer with the Public Works Department (PWD), has been arrested for molesting and beating up a woman sub-engineer, Nilandri Sahu (31), at the house of a sub-divisional officer (SDO) of the department in Raigarh district headquarters," city Superintendent of Police Neha Pandey told PTI.
However, in a written complaint to the Raigarh district superintendent of police, Dushyant has also complained against Nilandri for allegedly abusing him.
"As per the victim's statement, the incident took place on Monday evening when the duo went to (the) SDO's house to discuss a road project in Dhanagar-Bhupdeopur village. Dadsena got enraged over some issue and beat her up," Pandey said.
The woman has also charged Dushyant of frequently molesting her and threatening to kill her, she said.
A case of outraging the modesty of a woman and criminal intimidation under various sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused, she said.
He was produced in a local court, where his bail plea was rejected. He has been sent to judicial remand for 14 days, she said.
