Vaishali Superintendent of Police Upendra Kumar Sinha said that Santlal Yadav, Director of a Patna-based Engineering college, lodged a fresh complaint of receiving Rs 2 crore extortion call made in the name of jailed ex-JD(U) MLA Munna Shukla.
An FIR has been registered with Bhagwanpur police station in this regard, the SP said.
Details of the phone call on the Director's mobile were being checked, he said.
Yadav had on November 4 lodged a complaint against Shukla for allegedly demanding Rs 2 crore in the name of 'Adhikar rally' organised by JD(U).
Shukla's wife Annu is presently the JD(U) MLA from Lalganj seat of Vaishali district.
