Principal Sajal Giri, who had remained seated on his chair since last eveing as about 200 students resorted to a sit-in demonstration outside his chamber, left his office after the agitating students withdrew their stir.
The demonstration was withdrawn following talks between the students, college authorities and the local administration, a senior district official said.
Giri did not talk to waiting newsmen before leaving.
The talks centred round placement issue and the authorities promised to fast track the process and appoint a placement officer, student's spokesman Sayak Chakroborty said.
Police were posted outside the campus to keep tab on the developments within campus area.
