Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday directed the departments to enhance their capital expenditure to achieve targets for the financial year.
Chairing a budget expenditure review meeting of various departments for financial year 2019-20 (quarter 1) here, Khattar said he would intervene as and when required but the departments on their own should approach the central government for early release of grants for various schemes.
Finance Minister Abhimanyu was present at the meeting, said an official statement.
During the review, the chief minister released the 'District Budget' booklet, showing allocation of budget to districts under each scheme.
The chief minister asked the departments to complete maximum work in August, so that targets could be achieved well in time.
He asked the departments to consolidate different schemes with the same objectives as multiple schemes could confuse beneficiaries, said the statement.
