Enhancing retirement age of docs to strengthen healthcare

Health Minister J P Nadda today said that the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to increase the retirement age of doctors to 65 years will "immensely" strengthen the public healthcare system.
"Extremely thankful to Hon. PM for his guidance in health sector. We are fully committed to doing all that is needed for enhancing health care.
"The announcement for the increase in retirement age of doctors to 65 years will immensely strengthen the public health system," Nadda tweeted.
Citing shortage of doctors, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced raising the age of retirement of government doctors to 65 years and said the Union Cabinet will give its nod to the decision this week.
The decision will cover all government doctors whether serving under states or the central dispensation, he said.
