Enrich Energy bags Global Green Award

Pune-based Enrich Energy has won the prestigious Global Green Award, emerging as the first Indian company to bag it, the company said in a statement.
The company got the award amidst global competition from over 75 countries, it said.
The company has developed the first private solar power park of 40 MW in Solapur, Maharashtra spread across 200 acres and has also pioneered in commissioning the project under REC mechanism.
The Global Green Award is given for outstanding environmental achievements and contributions in areas of innovation, quality and technology, and sustainable practices.

* Tech giant IBM today launched a new 'Cloud marketplace' that will offer its cloud capabilities and new third-party services to developers, IT managers and business leaders.

This single online destination will serve as the digital front door to cloud innovation bringing together IBM's capabilities-as-a-service and those of partners and third party vendors with the security and resiliency enterprises expect, it said in a statement.

Microsoft announces winners of ImagineCup 2014 India * Microsoft India today announced the winners of ImagineCup 2014 awards, who will now represent India in the global finals in July in Seattle and compete for a USD 50,000 prize.
Team Dexters won the Innovation category, while for the gaming category, Team Seven Summits emerged winners. Team Untraceable0208 won the World Citizenship category.
About 60,000 student innovators participated in this edition of the event.
Imagine Cup provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to develop and showcase technology-based new business ideas, create products and put together business plans.

Sanjay Deshmukh appointed VMWare APJ End User Computing Head * IT firm VMware today announced the appointment of Sanjay Deshmukh as the Head of its End User Computing Business for the Asia Pacific Japan region.
He will join VMware from Citrix Systems India, where he was Area Vice President, Indian Subcontinent for more than four years, VMWare said in a statement.
Reporting to Sanjay Mirchandani, VMware's Senior Vice President and General Manager for the APJ region, Deshmukh takes up his new post on May 12 and will be based in Singapore.
