Ensure payment to cane growers, Dhankar asks Cane Commissioner

Haryana Agriculture Minister Om Parkash Dhankar has asked the state Sugar Cane Commissioner to ensure that payments to cane growers for supplying sugar cane to the sugar mills, whether cooperative or private, are made by June 30.
In a statement issued here today, the minister said the government has released Rs 290 crore to the cooperative mills to enable them to make payments to the cane growers and if more money was needed by any mill, it would be provided.
He said the government was also willing to support private mills in view of reduction in sugar prices. He said that interest free loan would be provided to the private mills.
