She asked the officials to take swift and stern action in cases of atrocities against women.
Following her directions, a meeting chaired by the officiating chief secretary was held today in which all superintendents of police were given directions.
The Director General of Police, who was present in the meeting, asked the SPs through video-conferencing to set up special cells to address women-related cases and also directed them to review pending cases.
He also asked them to deploy policemen in plain clothes at public places and near girls school and colleges for an effective monitoring, according to a release.
