Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay today asked the Delhi government to ensure proper functioning of the women's safety helpline, saying the party will not tolerate any deterioration in its working.
A release issued by BJP said Upadhyay talked to Chief Secretary D M Spolia and Women and Child Welfare Department Secretary Ashwani Kumar regarding the administrative and financial difficulties coming in the way of operations of Women Safety Helpline phone number 181.
"Women safety helpline is holding a very crucial responsibility today and BJP will not tolerate any deterioration in its working. BJP when in power in Delhi shall ensure that this helpline is joined with the Delhi Women Commission," he said.
He added that Spolia has assured him that the pending bills of the taxi service associated with this helpline would be paid within 48 hours and that the Chief Secretary has directed Ashwani Kumar to ensure that the helpline service needs are attended to within the next working week.
