The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Monday carried out raids on the premises of a Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation official to uncover disproportionate assets (DA), the state's Economic Offences Wing said.
An EOW official identified the accused as Chintamani Chandrakar, a deputy accountant with the Kanker district unit of the civil supplies corporation.
"EOW teams raided four places, including one in Bengaluru, of Chandrakar after a DA complaint was received against him," he said.
The places raided comprised Chandrakar's house in Durg district's Adarsh Nagar, his son's flat in Bengaluru, his in- laws' house in Durg and his Kanker-based office, resulting in recovery of crucial documents establishing his involvement in corruption, the official claimed.
He claimed the seized documents revealed Chandrakar had amassed movable and immovable assets worth several crores, though the exact figure was being ascertained.
Initial probe has also found that Chandrakar managed to win the confidence of senior officials and got himself important posts using influence, the official stated.

Through documents recovered during raids on the offices of the corporation in 2015 which unearthed an alleged multi-crore civil supply scam in the state, the ACB-EOW had zeroed in on the accused, he said.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against Chandrakar, he added.
