"India's large ICT talent pool and fast-growing economy makes it the ideal place to base a Global Network Operations Center to serve Ericsson's customers," Ericsson India Global Services Managing Director Amitabh Ray said in a statement.
Ericsson's new centre will be based in Kolkata and will complement existing sites in Noida, Gurgaon and Bangalore.
The Global Network Operations Center in India provides services that help operators in 49 countries around the world.
The managed services provided include service and resource fulfilment, proactive and reactive maintenance, network fault handling, restoration and repair of network faults, problem management, customer problem management, network planning, operations management among others.
