Escaped prisoner arrested, Jailer suspended

An undertrial, who had escaped from a hospital where he was taken for treatment last week, has been arrested, even as the Jailer of Dasna Jail has been suspended for negligence, police said today.
The undertrial Sajid was nabbed from Meerut last night, Jail superintendent Viresh Raj said, adding that the Jailer O P Katiyar has been suspended for negligence following his escape.
Sajid was lodged in Dasna Jail in a dowry death case on May 15. He was admitted to the MG district hospital here on July 21 for tuberculosis treatment, where he escaped from the toilet on July 27, Raj said.

Two constables, Lalaram and Chanderbhan, who were escorting him were also booked, he added.
