Escorts launches 'anti-lift' tractors

Tractor major Escorts today launched a new range of tractors 'Anti Lift Tractors' especially for use in construction and mining sectors.
The two models ALT 4000 and ALT 3500 are made specifically for commercial haulage operators, said S P Pandey -Chief General Manager & Market Lead -Powertrac, Escorts Agri Machinery here.
"Tractors in general are usually vulnerable because of their front lift nature, resulting in reduced or no steering of front wheels. This endangers the safety of the driver and results in considerable damage which increases the maintenance cost for the owner," he said.
Escorts has developed an innovative technology where in measures such as shifting the center of gravity and hitch point forward and custom-designed 85 kg front bumpers were taken to improve the front lift resistance capability of the tractor, he added.
ALT 4000 and ALT 3500 are priced at Rs 5.60 lakh and Rs 5.30 lakh respectively.
"This range of tractors has potential in mining and construction operations," he said adding, "We are aiming to sell 1,000 anti-lift tractors per month.
