The India Technical Consortium would be set up under the CII National Mission on Smart Cities, the company said in a statement.
The MoU was signed today by CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Director General Chandrajit Bannerjee and Amit Goenka, Director, Essel Infraprojects Ltd, it said.
As per the agreement, the two organisations would work towards associating and bringing other technology and infrastructure solution partners together as a cohesive group for developing smart cities in India.
It will also support CII's thought leadership role and the knowledge repository by providing reference points along with other technology and infrastructure solution partners, showcasing best practices in various fields related to smart city development, it said.
In addition, Essel Group will support CII by conducting feasibility studies for the evaluation of potential target cities with regard to opportunities in energy management, mobility solutions, building management systems and other associated areas.
