A supervisor at a government tea estate at Devala near Gudalur, was gored to death by a stray elephant, police said today.
The 50-year-old man had come out of his house to answer the call of nature late last night when the pachyderm gored him, they said.
Hearing his cries, neighbours and some estate workers rushed to the spot and took him to the government hospital at Gudalur. However, he was declared brought dead, police said.
