Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz stated this today during a meeting with a delegation of the European Parliament's Sub-Committee on Human Rights.
The delegation was led by Ana Gomes and included Andrzej Grzyb, Member of the European Parliament.
Aziz highlighted the efforts of the new government to improve the living standards of the people and protect their fundamental rights.
He said the government has given special emphasis to protecting the rights of women, minorities and children.
The EU delegation is visiting Pakistan during August 26-28.
During the visit, the delegation will be interacting with government functionaries and representatives of political parties and civil society organisations on the subject of human rights.
