The 'Casino Royale' star appears on the advertisement for 'Sin City' sequel 'A Dame to Kill For', brandishing a gun and wearing a sheer bathrobe, reported the New York Post.
Officials at the Motion Picture Association of America (Mpaa) have disapproved of the image due to "nudity".
A spokesperson for the thriller's distributor Dimension Films declined to comment but it is thought executives will work with MPAA members to find a compromise.
'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' also stars Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and will hit cinemas in August.
