The 44-year-old actor, reportedly had a fall out with "127 Hours" director, after he chose to cast Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Beach", Mirror reported quoting The Sun.
However, McGregor has now healed the rift and the two are working together on "Trainspotting 2".
"I've always loved to be here. It's nice for me because I'm coming home. It's nice to be here with a film that I really adore.
"I miss working with Danny. I did some of my best work with him and he is, to date, one my favourite directors I've ever worked with because he's such a brilliant director," "The Ghost Writer," the actor said.
The director-actor duo worked together on two films including "Shallow Grave" and "Trainspotting" before they had a fall out.
