Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi was being shifted to a private hospital in Delhi NCR in an air ambulance from Raipur airport tonight.
Jogi, who heads Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J), was admitted at Ramkrishna Care Hospital here after he was diagnosed with pneumonia last week, hospital director Dr Sandip Dave said.
"His condition was improving gradually. However, this evening, Jogi complained of breathing problem following which he was kept on a ventilator support. However, his condition is stable and he was being sent on an air ambulance to Medanta Hospital," Dr Dave said.
According to JCC (J) spokesperson Subrat Dey, Jogi was shifted in an ambulance by road from the hospital to Raipur airport late this evening.
The air ambulance took off for Delhi at around 10:45 PM.
Earlier this evening, Jogi had complained of chest pain due to acute pulmonary edema in which lungs fill with fluid.

Subsequently, he was given a ventilator support and it was decided to shift him to Medanata Hospital in Gurugram for better medication, he said.
Jogi's wife and Congress MLA Renu Jogi was accompanying him in the air ambulance while his son Amit Jogi, an MLA, and daughter-in-law Richa Jogi had already left for Delhi on a regular flight, Dey said.
