Ex-Congress minister Babasaheb Kedar passes away

A former Maharashtra minister and leading figure in co-operative movement in Vidarbha, Chatrapal Anand alias Babasaheb Kedar, passed away today at his residence after a prolonged illness, family sources said.
He was 85.
He is survived by wife, two sons, including sitting MLA Sunil Kedar, and a daughter.
Popularly known as 'Sahkar Maharshi' (giant in co-operative movement), Kedar was Minister of State for Rural Development in Sudhakar Naik ministry in 1990-92.
He was the first president of zilla parishad in Nagpur in 1962-67 and also president of Nagpur City and District Congress Committee in 1973-75.
His last rites will be performed tomorrow.
Congress MP from Nagpur Vilas Muttemwar and former BJP national president Nitin Gadkari expressed grief over the leader's demise.
