They appeared at the Bellary Lokayukta Superintendent of Police office.
On June 16, the Principal District and Sessions Court had ordered the Lokayukta police probe into the alleged land grab by Sreeramulu in 2011.
Judge Vishveswar Bhat, in his recent order on a private complaint, had directed the agency to submit its investigation report by August 28.
In his complaint, filed on April 29, G Krishnamurthy accused BSR Congress Chief Sreeramulu of encroaching 27.25 acres belonging to 350 families, including that of himself, on Belagal road on the outskirts of the city.

According to the complaint, Akula Lakshmamma owned 27.25 acres on the western side of the high-level canal. Of this, 10 acres was acquired by the government to construct a high-level canal for the Tungabhadra project and the remaining 17.25 acres was sold to Parameshwar Reddy, father-in-law of former minister G Janardhan Reddy on October 24, 2002.
On the same day, Sreeramulu also entered a sale deed with Lakshmamma to purchase 27.25 acres, he alleged.
